|Teams:||Calgary Northstar Sabres —1|
|At:||Calgary Bronks —3|
The Bronks took the game to the Sabres from the opening faceoff. The Bronks dominated physically helping them to control the flow of the game. The Sabres gained some momentum at the end of the first on a power play but couldn’t get one by Nick Crisanti, who preserved the 1-0 for the Bronks.
The second was much the same as the first. The Bronks did a great job of keeping the pressure on the Sabres’ defenders and containing the offensive zone. Midway through the period Riley Whittingham made a great individual effort to beat three defenders and pick the top corner.
In the third the Sabres didn’t have much left but to their credit, kept the score close. The Bronks were too much physically and were able to control the pace of the game at will. Jamal Watson and Jeremy McIntosh scored for the in the third to give the Bronks the win.
Calgary Northstar Sabres
7 Jesse Lees (D) — Jesse played solid at both ends of the ice. Jesse is effective offensively because he picks his spots very well. Given the time spent in his own zone, Jesse held his own in front of the net and in the corners, using his body and stick very well.
7 Jared Hauf (D) — Jared stepped up his game tonight. At 6’4, Jared used his size effectively, blocking shots and holding the offensive zone. Jared has a great shot that he got through to the net regularly creating quality scoring chances.
