|Teams:||Lethbridge Golden Hawks —1|
|At:||Calgary Northstar Sabres — 5|
This game was filled with action at both ends of the ice throughout. In the opening period each team had trouble getting the puck out of their own zone, leading to many good scoring chances.
Even thought the Sabres headed to the third period with a 3-1 lead, the result was up in the air. The Sabres came out strong in the third. Chad Labelle and Cade Owad scored shorthanded goals about 30 seconds apart near the half way point of the frame, which proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Hawks.
The line of Riley Whittingham, Chad Labelle, and Cade Owad combined for nine points, leading the way for the Sabres. Ryan Chynoweth responded with a goal for the Hawks and Tyson Brouwer made 40 saves in the loss.
Lethbridge Golden Hawks
19 Taylor Marr (F) — Taylor played a very inspired game. Throughout the contest, Taylor worked hard in the dirty areas, fighting for puck control. Taylor used his speed and seemingly endless energy tank to lead the Hawks on many rushes and scoring opportunities.
Calgary Northstar Sabres
19 Riley Whittingham (F) — Riley had another very good game, scoring two goals and adding an assist, giving him 15 points in 10 games. Riley used his speed many times mixing it up between carrying the puck into the offensive zone and playing the dump and chase game. Riley has an accurate shot. In this game Riley also showed that he is defensively responsible at even strength and while shorthanded.
