|Teams:||Airdrie Xtreme — 4|
|At:||Calgary Northstar Sabres — 7|
|Synopsis:||The Airdrie Xtreme started out by controlling the action for most of the first period. Momentum swung the Sabres’ way over the last eight minutes of the period as they were able to take advantage of multiple Xtreme turnovers in their own zone to take a 2-0 lead into the second period.
The Xtreme started the second with a band scoring two goals within the first two minutes to even it up. The Sabres poured on the offense and took a 5-3 lead into the third period on goals by Riley Whittingham, Cole Kebler and Chad Labelle.
The third period saw Torrin White of the Xtreme score his third of the game only 45 seconds into the frame. A Jesse Lees power play goal put the Sabres up by two goals three minutes later. And that was as close as it got. Chad Labelle added an empty netter to cap the Sabres 7-4 win. With the win the Sabres moved into first place in the Challenger South Division.
Airdrie Xtreme captain Chandler Irvin missed his second consecutive game since injuring his knee. He is expected back for the Xtreme’s next game.
10 Torrin White (F) — Torrin played a great game for the Xtreme. Not only did he record a hat trick, but he also filled in on defence during the power play and penalty kill in the absence of injured captain, Chandler Irvin. Torrin showed toughness as well as scoring touch, giving and receiving multiple big hits throughout the game. Torrin is quick and has good hands. His three goals bring Torrin’s league leading goals total to 18, and his point total to 21, also tops in the league.
Calgary Northstar Sabres:
7 Jesse Lees (D) — Jesse is a force on defence for the Sabres. He is very good in his own end and is able to throw his weight around effectively. Jesse often becomes the fourth forward when the Sabres attack and he had a goal and an assist for his efforts tonight.
