As with many games this season already, this game was ultimately decided by specials teams. Although the Hounds were only credited with two power play goals, two others were scored within 10 seconds of power plays ending. The Royals penalty killers scored twice but couldn’t hold off the Hounds power play.The Hounds were led on the score sheet by Doan Smith, who had a goal and an assist, while Cody Schlosser stopped 40 of 44 shots for the win. Jared Rollock scored two in the third for the Royals in a losing effort.
Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds
6 Sean McGuire (F) - Sean played a very solid game. He scored a power play goal to open the scoring for the Hounds in the first period. Throughout the game Sean played hard and made some very good plays thanks to the effort gave every shift.
Calgary Royals Gold:
16 Josh McCulloch (F) - Josh was key in the offense displayed by the Royals penalty killers. Josh was very active with his stick in the defensive zone and put a lot of pressure on the opposing defensemen. His efforts caused three turnovers at his own blue line, which resulted in two Royals goals. Josh plays a high energy style game.
